Free and confidential. Vet Center counseling costs nothing. You do not need to be enrolled in VA health care, and you do not need a VA disability rating. Vet Centers are not hospitals or clinics — they are community offices, and the setting is informal.

Who can be seen at a Vet Center — including spouses, parents and other family members, and bereavement counseling. Not sure you qualify? Call and ask; VA staff look for reasons to qualify people rather than turn them away.

Caring for a veteran? The VA Caregiver Support Line is 855-260-3274. It is a different program from the Vet Center, and caregivers can call it directly.

Services

Vet Centers offer individual, group, couples and family counseling, help with military sexual trauma and PTSD, grief counseling, and referrals to VA and community services. Ask when you call; services vary a little by center. Full list on the official VA.gov page.
