FindaVetCenter

Privacy policy

Effective September 18, 2026

FindaVetCenter is a free directory. We built it to collect as little as possible. This page explains, in plain language, what the site handles, why, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to delete it.

The short version

1. Who is responsible for this site

No Veteran Alone, Inc. ("we," "us"), a 501(c)(19) veterans organization, runs FindaVetCenter (findavetcenter.com). Our address is 2720 Dundee Rd, PMB 140, Northbrook, IL 60062. Email support@findavetcenter.com with any privacy question.

2. What we collect, why, and how long we keep it

Aggregate usage statistics, such as page views by country and device typeAutomaticallyTo learn which pages help peopleKept only as totals. We never keep individual profiles.

We do not collect health information, genetic information, family history, financial information, government ID numbers, or your contacts. Using this site does not create a record with VA, and we never send your information to VA.

3. Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. If we ever add a cookie, for example to remember a setting you choose, we will say so here first.

4. How we use information

We use the information above only to run the site, answer you, fix listings, keep the site secure, and understand which pages are useful. We use aggregate statistics, such as "how many searches last month," to report on the site's reach. Those totals never identify anyone.

5. What we never do

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the site, and only for that purpose:

These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us. They are bound by contract to the same commitments we make on this page, and they may not use or disclose your information, even in de-identified form, for their own purposes.

No third party may use or disclose information about you, including de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized information, without your consent. The only exceptions are when the law requires us to disclose information, for example in response to a valid legal order, or to protect someone from immediate harm.

7. Your choices and how to delete your data

You can use the site without giving us any information. You can decline location sharing and type a ZIP code instead. You can use a private browser window.

To ask us to delete your data, email support@findavetcenter.com with the subject line "Delete my data" from the address you used to contact us, or tell us which messages are yours. We will permanently delete 100% of the data we hold about you, including anything not from VA, within 45 days. We aim to finish within 10 business days. We will email you to confirm when it is done. You can also ask us what we hold about you or ask us to correct it.

8. How long we keep data

We have no accounts, so there is no dormant account data to hold. Technical logs are kept for up to 30 days. Support messages are kept for up to 2 years so we can follow up on listing corrections, then deleted. Aggregate statistics are kept as totals only.

9. Security

The site uses HTTPS everywhere. We collect the minimum information we can, limit who can see it, and store credentials and keys in encrypted storage, not in our code. No website can promise perfect security, which is one more reason we keep so little.

10. If there is a data breach

If we learn that information about you was exposed, we will tell you. We will email you if we have your address and post a notice on the site. We will do this as soon as we can, and within any deadline the law sets. The notice will say what happened, what information was involved, what we are doing, and what steps you can take.

11. If the site changes hands or shuts down

If No Veteran Alone, Inc. transfers FindaVetCenter to another organization, or closes the site, we will post a notice on the site at least 30 days in advance and email anyone whose address we hold. Before the change, you can ask us to send you or delete any information we have about you. Any new owner must keep to this policy or ask for your consent before using your information differently. If we shut the site down, we will delete the support messages we hold.

12. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we will post a notice on the site for at least 30 days and email anyone whose address we hold.
